£3.6m investment in manufacturing
As part of an exciting new development project which will see the expansion of the company's Dykehead Bakery, work is well and truly under way at Bells to install a new spiral freezer and pastry laminator at the historic site. This state-of-the-art equipment will boost manufacturing and storage capacity by 100%.
The site at the Dykehead Bakery has been the home of Bells since its earliest beginnings in the 1930s when Donald Bell began making bakery products from home. Since then it has seen considerable expansion as the company have invested in infrastructure and manufacturing processes consistently over the last number of years.
Swiss company Rondo helped develop the new pastry laminator and MD Richard Tearle is delighted to have played such an important part;
"All of us at Rondo, both here in the UK and in our factories in Switzerland and Italy, are delighted that Bells Food Group have entrusted us with this prestigious order. We look forward to further developing our already strong working relationship in the coming months, it is a privilege to be involved in the growth of such a successful organization".
